Two awards for Hans Clevers

Hans Clevers receives both the Kazemi Award for Research Excellence in BioMedicine 2016 and the I & H Wachter Award 2016.

Kazemi Award for Research Excellence in BioMedicine
This annual award honors a scientist who dedicates his life to pave the way for progress and promotion of human life, relieve people’s pain and make extraordinary achievements in biomedicine. The candidates for this award are selected by a nomination committee consisting of prominent national and international scientists. The winners of Kazemi award were Professor Rudolf Jaenisch (from MIT, 2010), Professor Hans Scholer (from Max Planck, 2011) and Professor Robert Langer (from MIT, 2015). The award is in the memorial of Dr. Saeid Kazemi Ashtiani, the founder of Royan Institute.

I & H Wachter Award
The “Ilse & Helmut Wachter Stiftung” was founded in order to support and acknowledge medical sciences for the welfare of mankind. The award is given for exceptional scientific achievements in all fields of medicine and is open to scientists of all nationalities. The winner is determined by the Organs of the Foundation from worldwide nominations.

Hans Clevers
Prof. dr. Hans Clevers is senior group leader at the Hubrecht Institute, Professor of Molecular Genetics at the University Medical Center Utrecht and Utrecht University and Scientific Director of the Princess Máxima Center for pediatric oncology.
