To work on a project aimed at a better understanding of Noonan syndrome

Description of the project: We seek a postdoctoral fellow to work on a project aimed at the development and characterization of zebrafish models of Noonan syndrome and related Rasopathies, in the framework of a European consortium. The project builds on previous work in our lab and focuses on (i) validation of novel candidate Noonan syndrome-associated genes using zebrafish, (ii) development of genetic models of Noonan syndrome in zebrafish using CRISPR/Cas9 technology and (iii) analysis of small molecule inhibitors that may rescue developmental defects in zebrafish Noonan syndrome models.

Requirements: The fellow we seek is a highly motivated researcher with a PhD degree in cell/molecular biology or an equivalent field. Ideal candidates would have a background in zebrafish (developmental) biology and a willingness to engage in interdisciplinary research.

Duration: 1 year with the possibillity of an extension for two years after positive evaluation.

Salary: According to “CAO-Nederlandse Universiteiten” (CAO-NU) salary scale 10, excluding 8% holiday allowance and a 8,3% year-end bonus. We offer an extensive package of fringe benefits.
