The Single-cell (epi)genomics facility currently has a vacancy for a
Bioinformatician full time (38 hours/week)
to provide (epi)genomic data analysis on a single-cell level to the Oncode Institute community
Description of the project:
This soon to be launched facility will provide services to the Oncode Insitute community. These services entail state of the art single-cell sequencing technologies developed in the groups of Alexander van Oudenaarden and Geert Kops.
With the rapidly growing demand for single-cell sequencing, the facility will set out to offer the relatively unexplored field of single-cell (epi)genomics. As many of these methods have only been developed recently and require a certain degree of expertise, the facility will remove this barrier for researchers in and outside of the Netherlands. With this approach we hope as a community to obtain more detailed insights into the contribution of the (epi)genetic mechanisms underlying cancer.
As the facility will conduct both the preparation of the samples and data processing, the team will consist of experimental and computational staff. You would analyze these highly complex datasets with innovative computational approaches created in the Van Oudenaarden group. As you will be the first computational member of the team a certain level of autonomy is required. Since the facility is not operational at this moment in time you can contribute to its setup and therefore its success.
Duration: One year with an extension after positive evaluation
Salary: According to “CAO-Nederlandse Universiteiten” (CAO-NU), depending on experience, excluding 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus. We offer an extensive package of fringe benefits.
Starting date: as soon as possible.
Location: Utrecht Science Park, De Uithof.
