EMBO laboratory management course well-received

Back to news

This week, the Hubrecht Institute hosted a three-day EMBO laboratory management course, a popular training course for postdocs and young group leaders. The course addressed key skills for scientists in leading research group positions (i.e. principal investigator or project manager): leadership, delegation, staff recruitment and selection, as well as conflict management, problem solving and communication. The course was well-received among the 15 postdocs and two young group leaders that participated:

“Excellent course where management tools were taught using real cases.”

“It made me realize the role I can have in communication with others and to learn how to listen to people. Also I really liked the practical guide on how to select good candidates for a position.”

“Perfect for those who are in a management position and want some useful tools to help them deal with it.”

“I think I will definitely benefit from the course, as I learned many techniques how to understand and deal with other people’s personalities. Also, it made me reconsider my own time management and the way I behave in periods of stress.”
